PerfectDisk 2008 Server

PerfectDisk 2008 from Raxco Software Inc. is a comprehensive solution for fast and thorough business-wide disk defragmentation.

PerfectDisk 2008 Server includes several features designed to help maximize server performance. One of them is SMARTPlacement optimization, which reduces the rate of fragmentation by placing files on disk drives according to usage patterns. SMARTPlacement also ensures that future defragmentation passes run faster and use fewer resources than typical disk defragmenters.

Administrators can also boost write and read performance through PerfectDisk 2008's Space Restoration Technology, which works so that drives have the largest amount of contiguous free space available. The idea here is that by consolidating free space more effectively, admins can avoid issues such as accelerated disk fragmentation and poor write performance.

Other new features included with PerfectDisk 2008 are:

  • Revamped user interface
  • Single Defrag option enhancements (such as the capability to defragment selected files rather than the entire drive)
  • StealthPatrol, a new unattended background defrag feature for when scheduling is inconvenient
  • Free space management capabilities
In addition to these new features, PerfectDisk 2008 can also defragment very large disk drives, ranging from several hundred gigabytes to multiple terabytes. The tool also supports RAID and Volume Sets.
