Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition

Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition extends the value of Recovery Manager for Active Directory by allowing restoration of the entire forest to a point-in-time before the directory became corrupt. It selects unaffected backups, quarantines the damaged environment and automates all the manual steps required to facilitate a successful forest recovery.

Recovery Manager for Active Directory from Quest Software Inc. recovers accidental deletions or modifications of Group Policy Objects or organizational units. The Forest Edition recovery process is now more closely aligned with Microsoft's native forest recovery approach, which gives Windows managers the option to restore some DCs from backup and to restore others through uninstalling and reinstalling AD with DCPromo.

Other features in Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition include:

  • Automated forest recovery tasks -- Using native tools to recover a forest requires many lengthy manual steps repeated on each domain controller. Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition automates those numerous manual steps to save time and minimize error.
  • Coordinated forest recovery from a single console -- All domain controllers in a forest can be restored simultaneously from one centralized location, eliminating the need to manually interface with each domain controller separately.
  • Remote quarantine -- Forest Edition automatically and remotely quarantines corrupt domain controllers so they won't replicate with the newly restored environment.

System requirements: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2003 and support for 64-bit versions of Windows 2003. Additional software requirements include Microsoft Data Access Components version 2.7 or later.

Pricing: $10 per user account.
