Zenoss Enterprise is an open source-based IT management solution designed to manage the configuration, health and performance of your enterprise infrastructure – including network devices, systems and applications.
Enterprise 2.3 from Zenoss Inc. is made to allow administrators to monitor their systems and networks proactively, while avoiding IT outages and providing better end user support. It uses a single Web-based console to provide auto-discovery, inventory management, configuration tracking, availability monitoring and other network management tasks.
The software supports Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista and provides comprehensive monitoring of the VMware infrastructure from one product. This includes collecting performance data from VMware servers, virtual machines, clusters and data stores, along with monitoring capabilities that speed up the troubleshooting process for administrators.
Enterprise 2.3 can also be used to monitor the performance and availability of Java applications, even those with parameters that contain complex and nested JMX data types. The software provides improved data collection for both Windows Perfmon and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), allowing more Windows servers to be monitored by a single installation of the tool.
Other features and enhancements include:

System requirements: 2 GB of RAM with 20 GB of free disk space. This product can be installed on Linux, Red Hat Enterprise 3, 4 and 5, Fedora Core 6, 7 and 8, Ubuntu Server 6.06 and 8.04, openSUSE 10.2 and 10.3, SUSE Enterprise 10, or Windows (requiring a VMware Player and the Zenoss Virtual Appliance).
