To truly sample the captured detail and photo quality of the Casio Exilim EX Z-40, view the 2304x1728 images (the highest supported resolution). But if download speed is your highest priority, view the 640x480 images (the lowest supported resolution). I listed a few highlights to note beneath each image thumbnail. I freely confess my lack of photographic skills, so please concentrate on photo detail, not the shakey-handed photographer....

Switching between 'Best Shot' modes is extremely easy, yet I managed to forget and use portrait mode for some of these shots. Even so, the Z40 is pretty forgiving.

If you're a nitpicker with a purist streak, then you shouldn't be researching point-and-shoot cameras. But if you're looking for a pocketable, easy-to-use camera for spontaneous still photos and video clips, then this little camera is well worth considering. I've printed 2304x1728 resolution images on 8x10 photographic paper on my traditional inkjet printer and I considered the results suitable for framing, at least around my home. This is no 12-megapixel monster, but it's no slouch, either. View the images and video below!
