I've worked in the industry in some form or other since 1992. Before that I dabbled non-professionally, but as it turned out, a lot of that dabbling paid off. What is your proudest IT accomplishment?
I've had a lot of little ones. I was able to persuade Microsoft to create a Windows XP boot-floppy set for the sake of emergency recovery, after forwarding them a good deal of feedback from users who were dismayed that this feature was going to be omitted. What is it about your profession that you enjoy most?
I learn something new every day, both from my own experiences and from the experiences of readers who come back to me with information about what they've dealt with. The whole industry is a moving train, so it doesn't help to be sitting still. If you could tell us one thing about yourself that you would like our readers to know about you in your role as a site Expert, what would it be?
I'm always trying to know more. If I can't answer something now, that to me is a challenge to overcome, not simply a limitation to be accepted. What is your favorite pastime? What are your hobbies?
I'm an avid movie watcher and collector, especially movies from Japan, Korea, China and Asia in general, and I write about the most interesting ones on my personal site ( www.thegline.com).
