Hitachi soups up Windows support

Hitachi Data Systems offers new support for Microsoft's Windows and Exchange in its HiCommand storage management software.

Hitachi Data Systems Inc. (HDS) has announced enhancements to its HiCommand heterogeneous storage management software. The upgrades provide integration with Microsoft's Windows Server 2003, including improved support for Microsoft Volume Shadow-Copy Service and brings enhanced data protection to Exchange 2003 and the NT File System. The suite also provides improvements in measurement and analysis on the Hitachi TagmaStore Universal Storage array. HiCommand can now configure and report on logical partitions within the TagmaStore to keep track of resources, the company said.
