No big surprises in Microsoft's next service pack for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 and Windows XP x64 Professional Edition. The company released beta 1 for SP2 on these platforms today.

SP2 contains security updates, hotfixes and some improvements that address customer support issues. IT administrators can also use these updates on Windows Server 2003 RTM, SP1 and Windows Server 2003 R2 releases. SP2 is due out in the latter half of 2006, according to Microsoft.
