Microsoft on Tuesday released the first downloadable public beta for the next version of its free patch management tool, Windows Server Update Services.
WSUS 3.0 is expected to be completed sometime in 2007. The software includes the Microsoft Management Console 3.0 and makes improvements to filtering and sorting and adds shortcut menus and better reporting. The software also allows nested target groups, which adds flexibility in how users are organized.
