Computer Associates Int'l announces availability of comprehensive data protection for Microsoft SQL Server 2000
There's a new e-business guard dog from Computer Associates International. The Islandia, NY-based company has a comprehensive data protection solution for Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
This "guard dog" is really a free upgrade to the ARCserve 2000 Backup Agent for SQL Server 2000. It extends "hot" online protection to mission-critical data.
The upgrade is available to existing users at CA's Web site. New ARCserve users will receive all the benefits and features in the upgrade.
HyperTerminal Private Edition 6.1 plugs Windows security hole; adds widely requested enhancements

Network ICE releases protection for new Microsoft IIS Web server vulnerability
Ice that sucker! Network ICE has come up with a defense against a fresh hole that could invite significant damage to the Internet.
The new vulnerability, "multibyte backticking," allows Internet interlopers to break into and take control of Microsoft IIS 4.0 and 5.0 servers. The intruder could eventually launch a distributed "denial of service attack" against another server or Web site.

Open Software Associates has deployed NETDEPLOY GLOBAL for Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS). The new, all caps product pushes SMS software distribution beyond the firewall and improves coverage and application version management.
