MEC 2001: The show goes on

Although a number of trade shows and conferences around the United States have been either postponed or cancelled, MEC 2001 will go on as scheduled.

Microsoft said this week it will go ahead with its Exchange Conference 2001 "based on input from travel industry and government officials." Redmond is confident that airlines, hotels and other support services will be fully operational by the time the conference opens Sept. 30.

All MEC 2001 events including keynotes, technical sessions and special events will take place as scheduled. But conference organizers will be working with state and local law enforcement on extra security measures, the company said Tuesday in a statement.

MEC 2001 is scheduled from September 30th through October 4th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Conference organizers ask that you send your questions to mec2001@travelhq.com.
