LAS VEGAS -- Several Microsoft partners used this year's Microsoft Management Summit as an opportunity to showcase their new products.

Felicity McGourty, a director in Microsoft's Windows and enterprise management division, said there are now about 120 management packs for Microsoft Operations Manager.

Among the newest are:

Softricity Inc., in Boston, released an application that uses virtualization technology to give end users Windows applications on demand. Softricity's ZeroTouch lets end users self-provision applications in real time, allows policy-based access to applications from any source, specifies which applications users should have access to through a workflow process and tracks their usage through real-time reporting. The software will ship this quarter, the company said.

Special Operations Software, Stockholm, is adding an extension for MOM for its Group Policy-based software deployment product. The software directly connects MOM to its existing Specops Deploy software. The software will ship by June, company executives said.

Silect Software Inc., Ottawa, said its monitoring software, MP Studio Express, is now available and works with MOM to identify the deviations in service delivery from defined service levels.

Avicode Inc., Baltimore, said the Operations Edition of its Intercept Studio .NET application monitoring software will be distributed with MOM 2005. It will be available as the Microsoft .NET Management Pack from the MSDN and MOM 2005 Web sites beginning July 2005, the company said.
