Lock your PC from an icon

Learn how to set up an icon that will lock your PC, as an alternative to the more commonly used key commands.

Some people prefer to use the mouse rather than the keyboard. Here's how you can create a desktop icon to lock...

your PC instead of using a key command.

Right click on the Desktop and choose New Shortcut. Paste the following path in location box:

%windir%System32rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

Name the shortcut and you'll be finished.

For even quicker access to the lock PC function, add a shortcut key in the icon's properties.
