Quick Tips: Exporting AD account information to a spreadsheet

Learn how to export Active Directory account information like email addresses, last name, etc., into a spreadsheet.

To export information from Active Directory, such as email addresses, user names, etc.:

  1. Run Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. Select View -> Add/Remove Columns, and add the columns you want to display and export (email address, last name, etc.).

  3. Select the Users container or another organizational unit (OU) within your Active Directory hierarchy.

  4. Right click on this same container/OU, select Export List and provide a path/filename.

  5. Open up the exported text file with Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet application.

You now have the information you need in spreadsheet format.
