Remote Desktop in Windows XP

Many people (including some system administrators) are not aware that Remote Desktop is included with Windows XP. It is a great way to remotely login and administer either a server (with Terminal Services installed) or another Windows XP desktop.

To get to this feature, go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Communications -> Remote Desktop Connection. Launch it and type in either the machine name or IP address in order to log into the system remotely. It saves a lot of time if you have many systems to troubleshoot and not enough time to physically get to the system in question. It is even handier if you are at a separate site from the system you need to log into.
