Can the Inter-Org tool book a resource in another Exchange Server organization?

Using the Inter-Organization Replication tool, is it possible to book a resource whose mailbox is in another Exchange Server organization? SearchExchange.com expert David Sengupta weighs in.

Does the Inter-Organization Replication tool allow a user (in one Exchange Server organization) to directly book a resource whose mailbox is in another Exchange Server organization? When we try, we get the message: "Cannot open the mailbox for this user because the user does not have a server mailbox. Unable to directly book a resource for this meeting."
I have seen this a few times and think it's a limitation with the Inter-Org tool. I am not aware of a workaround. There's a chance I'm wrong on this, so please write in if you hear of someone who gets this working. But I have never heard of anyone getting it to work.
