Computer not recognizing domain controller

I have a Windows 2003 server as my domain controller. I want to build an Exchange 5.5 server as my mail server. I already joined the mail server to the DC and tried to install Exchange 5.5 from a BackOffice CD. But the problem is, after I double-clicked SETUP.exe, it says "This computer must belong to Windows NT domain before installing Exchange Server." How can I fix this problem?
The most common cause for this error is that you are logged onto the member server using a local account and not a domain account. If that is the case, you'll want to make sure that you log on to this server using a domain account that has the appropriate permissions to perform software installations (e.g., a domain account that has local administrative rights).
