Error: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

Find out what to do if you receive an error that an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

When I click on Properties in the public folder, I get the following error:

An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. Facility: Win32 Id no: c0072746 Exchange System Manager.

I haven't been able to dig much up on this error. Was this server ever a Small Business Server? Are you replicating public folders? From the bits I have read, I recommend you call Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) about this one. Hope that helps.

MEMBER FEEDBACK TO THIS ASK THE EXPERT Q&A:

I had this exact same error message, and reapplying Windows Server 2003 SP1 fixed the issue. Go figure.

I hope this helps.
