Keeping an old domain e-mail address after moving Exchange to new domain

Learn how to keep your old domain e-mail address after moving Exchange to a new domain

I am trying to move my Exchange 2000 server to a new domain name and still retain the old domain e-mail address for continuity. Is this possible?
Yes. You simply need to ensure the Active Directory proxy addresses for these users contain both e-mail address spaces. Also, the Recipient Update Service should be configured to accept mail for both domains. Finally, you need to ensure the MX records for both domains are pointed to your mail gateway.
