Logging Event ID 6009 after migration to Exchange 2003

An Exchange administrator notices Event ID 6009 in Event Viewer after an upgrade from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003.

I upgraded my Exchange 2000 server to Exchange 2003. Everything seemed fine -- users could send and receive e-mail. But in the application log, under Event Viewer, I saw the following error:

Source: MSExchangeTransport
Event ID: 6009
Description: Categorizer encountered a hard error while processing a message. While processing user "X500:CN=Alex Tan, CN=Users,DC=NCHEE,DC=com" the function "CCatDLRecip::HrProcessItem_Default" called "HrAddNewAddressesFromICatItemAttr" which returned error code "0xc004055a" (). ( f:tisp1transmtsrcphatqcatsrcccatrecip.cpp ).

Can you tell me what it means?

I noticed the users do not have any Exchange mailboxes. Is this the reason I got this error in my Event Viewer?

Did you look in the Message Awaiting Directory Lookup SMTP queue? Also, did you try to search for that X500 address on the objects in the directory? It might be a message in the queue that cannot be delivered. I'm just not 100% sure if that error is because of the upgrade to Exchange 2003, or just something you noticed with increased logging and attention to the system post-upgrade.
