Need comparison data on connecting an enterprise class tape library to a fibre switch using a fibre

I'd like to obtain comparison data on connecting an enterprise class tape library to a fibre switch using a fibre interface versus using a SCSI to fibre bridge/gateway. Will one method of transfer maintain the transfer rate as well as the other when the number of drives being used in the library are increased?

Both performance and cost analysis data for either transfer method would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know where to find this exact level of specific information. You should try reviewing the Web sites of the vendors of both product types looking for comparison charts and whitepapers. You may want to search the SANS and backup e-zines, mailing lists and print magazine sites for info. You should also visit various SAN (storage area network) Web sites, such as the Enterprise Storage Forum.

Editor's Note: You may also want to take a look at our sister site, searchStorage. It contains a wealth of information related to what you're looking for.
