Outlook Web Access connectivity issues

We have Exchange Server 2003 with Outlook Web Access (OWA) enabled. Some users are able to access OWA, but some are not able to connect to the Web site ("Error: Page can't be displayed"). Is there any special setting in Internet Explorer that needs to be configured?
There are no special settings on the browser side to be able to access Outlook Web Access, but here are a couple of questions that may point you in the right direction:
  1. Are the display names of these users the same as their usernames?
  2. Are non-standard/special characters used in their names?
