Permanently remove a POP email account from Outlook 2003

I recently removed a few email accounts from Microsoft Outlook 2003. However, within the task window of Send/Receive, these accounts still appear. One of them was a pop.gmail.com account and I continue to receive a message stating: Enter Network Password. How do I permanently remove the Gmail POP account?
Outlook profiles often encounter errors, especially when dealing with multiple accounts on the same profile. If you no longer see the email account listed in the profile yet are still prompted with the error message, then the quickest and easiest way to fix the problem is to remove the current Outlook profile, then create a new Outlook profile with only the required mail service configuration.
