Receiving mail from multiple domains

I am building a new tree to migrate to Windows 2000 and I'm also building an Exchange box. Let's say for example that the new Active Directory domain is 'dogs.com' and the Exchange box will host a different e-mail called 'cats.com' while also collecting e-mail for 'pets.com.' Is that scenario possible, or do I have to name my domain 'someting.cats.com' to set up end users for e-mail?
You didn't say which version of Exchange you were using. If you are using Exchange 5.5, then you need to modify the settings on the IMC to receive mail for different domains. If you are using Exchange 2000 or later, you use Recipient Policies to do this. For more information, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 268838.
