Upgrading Win2k Pro PC to a Windows Server 2003

This may seem like a strange question, but I haven't seen it addressed elsewhere. I have a Win2k Pro workstation. I would like to "upgrade" it to Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 without losing all the configuration work already done. Can this be done, even if I need to by the "full" version of the server software?
Windows 2000 Workstation can be upgraded to both Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 transparently. See this Knowledge Base article for a complete list of Windows 2000 upgrade paths.
