Microsoft updates Exchange Server 2007 SP1

IT managers this week can download a rollup released for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1.

Microsoft has dispatched a rollup of bug fixes and feature improvements for Exchange Server 2007 SP1 to its download center.

This release, called Update Rollup 8 for Exchange Server 2007 SP1, will also be available on May 26 at Microsoft Update. All updates will appear as part of Exchange Server 2007 SP2 -- due out in the third quarter of this year.

Microsoft said that Update Rollup 8 includes a fix for an Update Rollup 7 bug that caused the sender of the Delivery Status Notification to be unresolved. Previously, the disable kernel mode authentication in Windows Server 2008 for client access servers (CAS) was needed to manually configure CAS. In Rollup 8, the installer will automate this configuration.
